The Search Begins

In April of 2025, I started to research and design a new truck. I have been driving a 2021 Ram Powerwagon 75th Anniversary edition that I really like. It has everything I would ever want in a truck except for one thing..... A diesel engine and therefore the power to pull heavy loads. So, the search started.

I began my research were everyone starts to look for answers to unknown questions, YouTube. I knew right were to start, the SEMA truck builds. After a couple hours of watching different builds from different years I came across a Ranch Armor truck build by Jim Glover Customs. This truck build inspired the idea of doing the Whiskey 7 Ranch truck.

Jim Glover Ram

Ordering

I first sent an email to Jim Glover Ram to see how the dealership was associated with the Glover Customs from the SEMA build. What I found out was they are both in the same building and work together to do custom builds. I first spoke with Adam Clinkenbeard, and he explained the ordering process and how the dealership and the custom department worked together. He then introduced me to Mike Burress, who handles the custom builds. When I explained what I was wanting to do, they were very excited to help and really went above and beyond to make my one-of-a-kind truck come true. Jim Glover and Glover Customs were great to work with, they were very helpful without any sales pressure, and I knew right away I was in the right place.

I first placed the order with Adam for the truck itself. This took a couple of months as the 2026 models were not out yet and I wanted the Ceramic Grey paint color which was rumored to be available in May. Adam and I went down the build sheet in detail knowing that some of the line items would be taken off and replaced when the truck arrived. I then had the truck delivered to Jim Glover.

Design

While I was waiting for the truck to arrive, Mike and I started to design the extra items. I had a specific bumper in mind but wanted it to match the wheel flairs and I also had a specific wheel but left it up to Mike to suggest what lift, suspension, tires, extra fuel tank etc. After many emails and phone calls, the final truck was done. I have added the video below that Jim Glover did for the reveal when I flew out to pick it up. I have also listed all the extra equipment below the video in case someone is interested.
